Vice director (1977-97) then director of the Medical ICU (1997-2010) (14 beds) of Saint-Antoine hospital, a Medical
University Hospital of 800 beds in Paris and consultant in the same hospital.since 2010

Professor of Critical Care Medicine since 1986 at Paris University Pierre et Marie Curie

President of Société de Réanimation de Langue Française 1988-1989.
Patients' care has always been and remains his priority, his two other missions of Medical school staff being teaching
and research.
He was the coordinator of intensive care teaching program in Paris region from 2003 to 2008 and president of the national university council for intensive care in 2009.
His main topics of research are sepsis , infectious diseases and nosocomial infections, procedures evaluation,hydro-electrolytic disorders, prevention of GI stress hemorrhage.

Since 2000 president of nosocomial infection committee of Saint Antoine Hospital

From 2000 to 2010 he undertook cooperation with Pakistan institute of medical sciences and launched the first public medical ICU in North Pakistan in Islamabad
